A general contractor
for the long way around.
Jet City ADU is owner-run by Matt Matysik, a Pacific Northwest builder who has spent the last decade specializing in second residences — ADUs and DADUs, new builds and conversions — along with additions and whole-home renovations across King and Snohomish counties. We run one crew at a time, on purpose, so the work that leaves our hands is work we'd put our own name on.
Most general contractors juggle too many jobs and lose the thread on every one of them. We've watched it happen, and we built Jet City ADU as the opposite.
The deal is simple. One project manager from kickoff through warranty. One lead carpenter on site every day. A short list of trades — framers, electricians, plumbers, tilesetters — that we've worked with for years and know by name. A weekly written update on Fridays so you don't have to chase us for status. And a written, itemized estimate before you sign anything, so there's nothing to argue about later.
We turn down more projects than we take. That's how we keep the schedule honest and the quality consistent. If we say yes, it's because we can finish your project on time, to the standard we promised, with the same crew that started it.

Founder · Lead PM
Matt has been building in the Seattle area since before the ADU boom — when basements were just basements and a backyard cottage was the rare exception. He started Jet City ADU in 2015 to focus the work on the project types he liked most and could do best: second residences — new builds and conversions — additions, and the kind of careful whole-home renovations that take a few months and get done right.
You'll meet Matt at the first site walk. You'll talk to Matt during the project. You'll call Matt if something needs attention after the warranty walk. That's the point.
Four commitments we keep on every project.
Quality first
Waterproofing that's photo-documented. Tile work by hand. Framing that's plumb. The kind of details a future contractor will notice and respect.
Honest scheduling
A master schedule before mobilization. Weekly Friday updates. If something slips, you hear it from us first — not at the end.
Real communication
One project manager, one phone number, one inbox. Questions get answered the same day. Decisions get documented in writing.
Finishing what we start
Same crew from demo through punch list. A 90-day check-in after move-back. A warranty we honor without an argument.
